Ten Best Resume Templates for Word
I've organized a list of downloads with screenshots for 10 of the best templates for every job application. There are chronological and functional resumes in traditional and modern styles, that are easy to use for any version of Microsoft Word from '97 to 2010. Also, there are more sophisticated designs that are job or situation specific (for a transfer within the same company or recent college graduates) but can be customized for whatever best suits your needs.
The templates I've chosen were made by authoritative sources, such as monster.com, or published authors of job-hunting books. They're also popular, according to user feedback.

As a general rule, you want your resume to "stand out," that is, appear distinctive from the others, but what you absolutely don't want is for your resume to stick out like a sore thumb. Resumes full of color, graphics, and lots of variations in font sizes will likely be rejected by human resources, and put aside without review. Conforming to a style that a reviewer's eyes are used to seeing is important, but you can still stand out from the crowd if you take the time to present your skills in a way that shows you are the best candidate for the job, as well as a good fit for the company.
I wish you the best of luck on your job search and interviews, and that you'll soon be able to land the job of your dreams!
